FAQs

About .Kred Domains

[fa icon="plus-square"]What is a .Kred Domain?

.Kred Domains are both fully resolving web and wallet addresses powered by ENS.

.Kred is a Top-Level Domain (similar to .COM) which allows Kred users to create their own custom domains, like John.Kred or MyCompany.Kred.

[fa icon="plus-square"]What can I do with a .Kred Domain?

.Kred Domains help users establish their Online Identity by:

  1. Linking to their personal website or Kred Profile, showing all their online content, gather your social feeds into one place and allowing them to connect with other Influencers.

  2. Linking to digital wallets - Send and receive currency and  digital assets using your .Kred domain instead of a complex wallet address.
[fa icon="plus-square"]What do I get when registering a .Kred Domain?

Registering a .Kred Domain provides you with a Kred Domain Token:

Kred Domain Tokens

A .Kred Domain Token grants control of its associated .Kred Domain, allowing the holder to edit the associated website and/or digital wallets.

When registering a Kred Domain, you also get access to the Kred Verified Influencer Platform, which includes:

  • Your .Kred Influencer Profile - Your Profile shows all of your online content, gathers your social feeds into one place and allows you to connect with other Influencers.

  • The Kred Influencer CRM - Identify Influencers based on topics and keywords. Check your Scores against your friends and competitors on Kred Leaderboards. See the highest Scores within different topics.

  • Tokenized NFT Business Cards - Your cards are always up to date, and show your avatar, name, Kred Score and connected social accounts - Blockchain verified.

[fa icon="plus-square"]Someone registered my name. What can I do?

.Kred is an ICANN approved Registry Operator and protects individuals, brands and registered trademarks.

.Kred honors decisions under ICANN’s dispute resolution and rights protection policies, including the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) and Uniform Rapid Suspension System (URS) and according to the terms of the Terms of Service that sanction illegal use of .Kred services.

If you think there has been an infringement or abuse of a .Kred Domain, please let us know at https://www.go.kred/contact

[fa icon="plus-square"]Is .Kred an ICANN approved Registry Operator?
Yes! .Kred entered into a Registry Agreement with ICANN on 19 December 2013.

Payments, Renewals and Transfers

[fa icon="plus-square"]Can I pay for a .Kred Domain with ETH or another cryptocurrency?

Yes.

If purchasing a .Kred Domain on Domains.Kred, simply choose your preferred currency at the checkout.

If purchasing on OpenSea you will be invited to pay using ETH or WETH.

[fa icon="plus-square"]How can I renew my .Kred Domain?

You can renew and extend the expiry date of any existing .Kred Domain by paying the required fee at any time, either:

  • On Domains.Kred
  • Via your Kred Profile
  • Via ENS.Domains????
[fa icon="plus-square"]What happens if I let my Domain Token expire?

You can renew your name at any time during the period for which you have paid registration.

Once your Domain Token registration expires, Kred may offer a discretionary 60 day Renewal Grace Period in which you can regain access to your name.

During this period:

  • The Domain Token image will show Expired to avoid misrepresentation if the name is sold during this period.
  • The Domain Token holder cannot manage the ENS settings of the domain.
  • The ENS wallet address (if any) is cleared to prevent accidental transfers to a name which was intentionally left to expire.
  • DNS records are updated to point to holding page showing that the domain associated with the Domain Token has expired, with a link for the owner to renew.

Following the Renewal Grace Period, your domain will be deleted and will be available for registration by someone else.

Making sure you renew before your domain expires will prevent someone else from registering it and taking control.

[fa icon="plus-square"]Do I need to renew my Kred Domain Token?
No. When renewing your .Kred Domain, your Token is automatically renewed with it.

.Kred Domains and Blockchain

[fa icon="plus-square"]What is a Kred Domain Token?

Every .Kred Domain is registered on the blockchain with a unique, ERC-721 Kred Domain Token.

The Kred Domain Token facilitates instant transfer of the domain and captures the monetary and social value of its associated websites and wallets.

[fa icon="plus-square"]Can I transfer my Kred Domain Token to someone else?
Yes. When transferring your Token, you acknowledge that you are also transferring the ownership of your Kred Domain to the new user and will no longer control its settings.
[fa icon="plus-square"]Can I create my own subdomains on a Kred Domain Token?
Yes! You can create whatever subdomains you wish, and assign ownership of them to other people if you desire. You can even set up your own registrar for your domain!
[fa icon="plus-square"]Are .Kred Domains supported by the Ethereum foundation or Ethereum Name Service?
Yes. .Kred Domains are powered by the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) who is fully supported by the Ethereum foundation.
[fa icon="plus-square"]Is my Kred Domain Token both ENS and DNS compatible?

Yes!

.Kred Domains are both fully resolving web and wallet addresses - For example:

  • John.Kred may be linked to resolve to a website or social profile in a web browser using the traditional Domain Name System (DNS)

  • The same domain, John.Kred may be linked to a user’s digital wallet using the Ethereum Name Service (ENS), facilitating transfer of tokens to that wallet using the .Kred domain as a shorter, more memorable moniker.

[fa icon="plus-square"]How is .Kred different from .ETH and other Blockchain Domain projects?

Unlike most other Blockchain Domain projects, .Kred is an ICANN approved Registry Operator, which means that any registered .Kred Domain can be used in both Web 3 and traditional Web 2 experiences.

For example:

  • John.Kred may be linked to resolve to a website or social profile in a web browser using the traditional Domain Name System (DNS)

  • The same domain, John.Kred may be linked to a user’s digital wallet using the Ethereum Name Service (ENS), facilitating transfer of tokens to that wallet using the .Kred domain as a shorter, more memorable moniker.

Don't have a Wallet? See some of our preferred Wallet providers here

Kred differentiates itself from other ICANN approved Registry Operators (like .Art and .Luxe) by being a "closed TLD". This status allows the .Kred Registry to grant customers access to their domain on both ENS and DNS using a Kred Domain Token (and without any complicated reconciliation or verification).

Kred Domain Tokens:

  • Facilitate instant transfer of your .Kred domain, by either sending directly to a friend, or selling your Domain Token on a third-party marketplace, like OpenSea.

  • Allow Kred to build powerful new features into the smart-contract, like a royalty, paid to the token's initial holder whenever the Kred Domain Token is sold in the future.

[fa icon="plus-square"]How does .Kred handle abuse?

Kred will take action against accounts where abuse of our Terms of Service is suspected.

[fa icon="plus-square"]Does .Kred abide by ICANN Policies Regulations?
